We're off I-35 at exit 200, which in San Marcos means one thing: you can leave the car in the lot and walk to more than 145 outlet stores in about six minutes, with Tanger's entirely different lineup a couple of minutes past that. It is a genuinely unusual thing for a highway hotel to be able to say, and it's why most people book us.
Then there's the other San Marcos. Ten minutes away, springs push water up through the riverbed at a steady 72°F — clear enough to see the bottom, cold enough to matter in August, and the reason tubing here is less an activity than a civic tradition. Come back to a hot breakfast, a pool, and a quiet room. Austin is thirty miles north, San Antonio forty-five south, and neither is the reason you'd stay.
